New Delhi, Jun 10 : Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has been named the new Union Culture and Tourism Minister, replacing G Kishan Reddy in the new Modi Government 3.0. Shekhawat has served as Union Jal Shakti Minister in the previous Modi government. Prior to this, on 3 September 2017 he was appointed Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India.
He was elected as a member of parliament to the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 from the constituency of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. One of his major achievements during his tenure as an MP has been the expansion of the Jodhpur Airport, a demand that had continuously been raised during the last 18 year.
