TravTour MICE spoke to Kadambari Sabharwal recently about her tenure with Four Points By Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield. This is what she said to us with an evergreen smile :
1. Q. Please elaborate your journey as a Hotelier.
I, recently finished 21 glorious years with Marriott. My journey has been enriching and gratifying. Each phase has taught me and made me a stronger professional. Whilst I joined as an F&B Executive Development Program trainee, I changed over to Sales and Marketing within the first week. Great mentors gave me the opportunity to learn and grow. I was nominated to champion new roll outs and was part of a committee aimed at making a progressive sales structure with strong focus on customers. Through the years, I used the opportunity to move within the discipline and cover all verticals (property sales, cluster sales, regional sales, market sales, former NSO setup, reactive, proactive and leadership roles). Eventually, I decided to move to operations to expand my learning and grow into a well-rounded hospitality professional. Today, I am proud to lead as a Hotel Business leader. At this stage of my career, I am also part of the Women Leadership program with Marriott and a Vice President for WICCI, Karnataka state chapter.
2. Q. What are the USP’s of Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield ?
Location, Associates (People), Our authentic food offerings and the Product differentiate us within the market.The hotel has an easy access to corporates, entertainment options and shopping providing a good balance for long stays and leisure guests. Our people are our biggest strength. They give us the distinctive edge and most of our regular customers keep coming back due to the personalized service that we provide. Our offerings both on the food and rooms take influence from the locale and the whole hotel encapsulates that theme.
3. Q. What is the
market share of MICE traffic to your hotel ?
Our dependence on MICE and specifically on conferencing has never been high prior to the pandemic. However, in recent times we are clearly seeing a trend of increased conferencing requirements. Conferencing makes up almost 15% of our total revenue.
4. Q. What is your corporate outreach programme in the current fiscal ?
The four Points by Sheraton is largely a corporate hotel. We have 90% of our business which is driven through the corporate companies whether in forms of Rooms, banqueting or Food & Beverage given our location in the Whitefield market which is largely an IT & ITES dominant market.
5. Q. Where do you see Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield in the next two years?
There is a lot of positive energy and opportunity at this hotel. Given the new tech parks coming up within close proximity, the residential complexes now being occupied, a revamped Food and Beverage offerings and young, well trained associates, this hotel is poised to grow to a leadership position within the 4 star segment in the Whitefield sub market.
